Developers that are just starting out – indie developers in particular – love to point out that their game will remain free of pay-to-win. To prove their point, they often cite the success of League of Legends, which earns hundreds of millions of dollars by selling skins and heroes. Is it really that easy to make money by selling visual content? And how should one go about selling it?
