War Robots achieves $1 billion in lifetime revenue!

We have some big news: our staple PvP tactical shooter War Robots has earned $1 billion dollars in gross lifetime revenue from all platforms. The game crossed the important threshold after 10 years of stable growth – and we don’t plan to stop!

Interesting fact: according to data.ai, less than a 100 of all mobile games in history earned a $1 billion in revenue. It’s important to note that from 2016 only in the USA more than 150 thousand mobile games were released, not including hyper casual titles. That makes the mobile game market extremely saturated.

Recipe for success

A big part of War Robot’s success is its vibrant and ever-growing community. Over the years around 300 million people have installed the game on all platforms – and, in 2024, more than 4.7 million of them play monthly, with daily user count being up to 690 thousand.

Here’s some additional interesting statistics:

  • Device-wise, mobile has been the biggest contributor compared to PC, and brought in 95% of installs and 94% of revenue.

  • There are more than three times as many Android users as iOS players among War Robots audience – 212 million versus 70 million, respectively.

  • The revenue from each platform is almost equal – $455 million on Android and $442 million on iOS.

  • Content-wise, fresh content distributed through in-game events consistently performs the best, accounting for a significant portion of revenue.

  • Each year, the dev team releases around 100 new content units – including robots, pilots, and weapons – and on average 9 events. This keeps the game fresh and relevant.

Global data, the most profitable region, and the Chinese launch

From a geographic perspective, War Robots is played in every country worldwide, with its largest lifetime revenue contributors being the United States, Japan, Germany, South Korea, and Great Britain. Leading the list, the US boasts over 36 million installs and over $380 million in revenue.

Another important region for War Robots is LATAM, and the most notable contributors there are Mexico and Brazil, with 14.5 million and 13 million players. That alone pushes them to 3d and 4th place among all markets’ installs.

And, of course, there is China, a very prospective and incredibly well performing market. War Robots returned there in full swing in January 2024 and quickly found its audience.

Now the Chinese version of War Robots holds the stable 3rd place in revenue for iOS across all countries worldwide. It is also released in 29 Android stores. According to Appmagic, in 2024, the Chinese version of the game ranked among the top 5 vehicle shooters worldwide by revenue, while the global version secured 1st place.

“This milestone reflects not only the enduring appeal of War Robots but also MY.GAMES’ commitment to creating high-quality, engaging gaming experiences that resonate with a global audience,” said Elena Grigorian, CEO of MY.GAMES. “Reaching $1 billion in lifetime revenue is a testament to the dedication of the War Robots development team and the innovative strategies we’ve employed to stay competitive in an ever-evolving market. It highlights the power of combining robust live operations, consistent content updates, and a deep understanding of our players' preferences. As we celebrate this achievement, we remain focused on sustaining growth and delivering exceptional gaming experiences to our players.”

“We announced reaching $500 million in cumulative revenue near the 7th anniversary of War Robots. It took us less than four years after that milestone to join the prestigious ‘$1 billion games club,’ well ahead of the game's 11th anniversary,” said Vladimir Markin, Head of Pixonic studio. “I’m really proud of the War Robots team for keeping the game fresh and relevant while planning exciting updates, not just for 2025 but for years ahead. A huge thank you to our dedicated players – you inspire us to keep pushing boundaries.”
